John Stewart saw a delegation from the Shorthand and Audio-Typists' Association (now the Stenographers' Association) and discussed their problems. He also dis- cussed the problem with the authorities. He suggested to the Hong Kong Government that they should consider the appointment of an independent arbitrator. The Hong Kong Government are currently considering this proposal.

I sincerely hope that the Hong Kong Government will accept the proposal of an arbitrator and that this will bring this dispute to a conclusion satisfactory to both sides.
