Dear No Sears,

~

VISIT BY OFFICIALS FROM HONG KONG

In previous discussions with Mr.Redding I explained that another two senior officials from the Government Secretariat in Hong Kong would be visiting the UK in September. They are the Financial Secretary, Mr.Henry Ching and the Secretary for Administration, Mr.Ian Lightbody. On Tuesday when we were discussing Mr.Rowlands' visit, you mentioned the fact that the FCO had also warned you about Mr.Lightbody's visit.

I would be most grateful if you would arrange suitable visits for these two officials. Ideally, I would like Mr.Lightbody to visit your Recruitment Group in Basingstoke on Monday 12th September (while Mr.Ching is visiting the Treasury and Board of Inland Revenue) and then Mr.Lightbody with Mr. Ching to visit your Head- quarters and the CCA on Tuesday 13th September. The programme on Tuesday should follow the same pattern as the one you originally organised for Mr.Rowlands (ie Mr.Read, Mr. Good and the CCA) except to cut out the visit to Bracknell.

Please let me know what further details you need and how I can help you arrange these visits.

Yours sincerely,

Nakt Grelle
