COMMUNICATIONS BETWEEN NEW SCOTLAND YARD AND THE BRITISH EMBASSY, BANGKOK

I confirm that Det. Chief Inspector Osborne of the Central Drugs Intelligence Unit at Scotland Yard has spoken to me about communications with Mr Law, Counsellor for Hong Kong Affairs at Bangkok, as mentioned in Assistant Commissioner Kellard's letter to Mr Stewart of 24 August.

COD have agreed that New Scotland Yard messages may be sent to Mr Law via the FCO. For confidential letters it will be sufficient if they are addressed in the usual style, to Mr Law, /o FCO, King Charles St., with 'Bangkok' in the top left-hand corner. letters need not be passed through SEAD. As for confidential telegrams the text should be sent to me first for treatment as an official FCO telegram.
