61. On 3rd April, 1976, Preventive Service officers intercepted Chinese male CHOI Chi-kwong (5991/1807/0342) in Nathan Rd., Kowloon. A search of Cнor revealed 5 polythene packets, each bearing traces of heroin. Shortly afterwards, European male Patrick Joseph LOCKE and Chinese female CHOW Cheuk-wah were stopped at the same location. Keys found in CHOW's possession led to the discovery of 3.5686 kilogrammes of a mixture containing 682.7 grammes of salts of esters of morphine in a nearby tenement flat in which all three lived. CHOI, CHOW and LOCKE were arrested and charged with Possession Of Dangerous Drugs For The Purpose Of Unlawful Trafficking. They are awaiting trial.

62. On 11th May, 1976, acting on information, Preventive Service officers intercepted Chinese male YEUNG She-wong (2799/4357/2489) in Man Shing St., Yau Ma Tei, Kowloon. YEUNG was found to be carrying a travelling bag containing 679 plastic phials of heroin, Shortly afterwards, the officers raided a tenement flat in Man Cheong Building, Yau Ma Tei, and discovered a further 995 plastic phials and 230 polythene packets of heroin. Chinese male Liu Fan (1675/1581), found inside the flat, was arrested. The total seizure comprised 2.9796 kilogrammes of a mixture containing 966.2 grammes of salts of esters of morphine.
63. YEUNG and Liu were jointly charged with Possession Of Dangerous Drugs For The Purpose Of Unlawful Trafficking. YEUNG was charged with an additional count of Possession Of Dangerous Drugs For The Purpose Of Unlawful Trafficking in respect of the heroin that he was carrying at the time of his arrest. Liu pleaded guilty and was sentenced to 4 years' imprisonment. YEUNG pleaded not guilty and is awaiting trial.

64. On 14th May, 1976, following a period of observation, Preventive Service officers stopped and searched Chinese male WONG Ying-ming (3769/5391/2494) in Lai Chi Kok Rd., Kowloon. WONG was found to be carrying 10 polythene packets of heroin. Following his arrest, a nearby flat was raided resulting in the discovery of a further quantity of heroin and the arrest of Chinese females LEE Fong (2621/5364) and WONG Yim-ling (3769/5333/3781), both of whom were found inside the premises. The total heroin seized comprised 3.1632 kilogrammes of a mixture containing 702.7 grammes of salts of esters of morphine.
65. The three arrested persons were jointly charged with Possession Of Dangerous Drugs For The Purpose Of Unlawful Trafficking. WONG Ying-ming was charged with an additional count of Possession of Dangerous Drugs For The Purpose Of Unlawful Trafficking in respect of the heroin which he was carrying at the time of his arrest. The case is pending trial.

66. On 22nd May, 1976, Narcotics Bureau officers intercepted Chinese male WONG Pang-fei (7806/7720/7378) in King Kwong St., Hong Kong. As the officers approached WONG he was seen to throw a plastic bag onto the ground; this bag was recovered and found to contain two large polythene bags of heroin. WONG was arrested and escorted to his residence in nearby Shing Wo Rd. where another two polythene bags of heroin were discovered, together with heroin packaging equipment.
67. The total heroin seized comprised 1.5995 kilogrammes of a mixture containing 567.9 grammes of salts of esters of morphine. WONG was charged with two counts of Possession Of Dangerous Drugs For The Purpose Of Unlawful Trafficking. He pleaded guilty and was sentenced to 4 years' imprisonment.

68. On the morning of 27th May, 1976, acting on information, a party of Narcotics Bureau officers laid ambush at the junction of Argyle St. and New Ferry St., Mong Kok. After a few minutes they intercepted a Chinese couple who had just alighted from a private car. A search of two cardboard boxes which Chinese male Kay Kam-choi (4359/6930/2088) was carrying resulted in the discovery of 3 large polythene bags of heroin. KAY and his wife YUEN Wai-ling (5913/1979/ 3781) were escorted to their residence in Nelson St., Mong Kok, where a further 2 large polythene bags of heroin were discovered. The total weight of heroin seized was 7.0217 kilogrammes of a mixture containing 1.7308 kilogrammes of salts of esters of morphine.
