An Ordinance to amend the Prevention of Bribery Ordinance.
[9th April, 1976]
Enacted by the Governor of Hong Kong, with the advice and consent
of the Legislative Council thereof.
1. This Ordinance may be cited as the Prevention of Bribery (Amend- Short title. ment) Ordinance 1976.
2. Section 14A of the principal Ordinance is amended by deleting Amendment of subsection (2) and substituting the following--
section 14A. (Cap. 201.)
"(2) A notice under subsection (1)~-~

(a) may be served by delivering it personally to the person to whom it is addressed or may, where the District Court is satisfied that such person cannot be found or is not in Hong Kong, be served in such other manner as the District Court may direct on application ex parte by or on behalf of the Commissioner;
(b) shall have effect from the time of service and shall continue in force for a period of 12 months or until cancelled by the Commissioner whichever is the earlier.".
Section 14C of the principal Ordinance is amended in subsection Amendment of (3) by inserting the following after "person"-
"and may be served by delivering it to him personally or may, where the District Court is satisfied that such person cannot be found or is not in Hong Kong, be served in such other manner as the court may direct on application ex parte by or on behalf of the Com- missioner".

4. Section 17 of the principal Ordinance is amended by deleting sub- Amendment of section (1) and substituting the following--
"(1) If it appears to the Commissioner that there is reasonable cause to believe that in any premises or place, other than an office, registry or other room of or used by a public body, there may be anything which is or contains evidence of the commission of an offence under this Ordinance, he may by warrant directed to an in- vestigating officer empower such officer to enter such premises or place, by force if necessary, and search the same.”.
