HONG KONG: HOUSE OF COMMONS PARLIAMENTARY QUESTIONS ON THE
RECENT POLICE DISTURBANCES
1.
1. I submit draft replies and a background note to the four priority Written PQs put down by Mr Robert Parry MP for answer on 21 November.
2. Mr Parry has so far tabled 85 Questions this year on Hong Kong including 21, in the current session, on the police and corruption. He takes a keen interest in Hong Kong which he has visited often. On his last visit in September of this year he was insulted in a restaurant by plain clothes European police officers. He has received an apology from the Commissioner of Police in Hong Kong for this incident and the officers concerned have been severely reprimanded. The draft reply is based on comments and information from the
Hong Kong Government.
