most cases formal and do not require that the accused be legally represented. Where it is considered that committal has been wrongly granted, Legal Aid to have the committal reversed can, in certain circumstances, be issued.

No simple pamphlet or booklet for distribution to members of the public has yet been produced covering the procedures and regulations relating to the issue of Legal Aid in Criminal cases, although such a booklet is in course of preparation. However, this information is readily available in Government Public Enquiry offices, and is available through the Prisons Department to prisoners on remand.
