4. About Some of the Persons Involved

(i) CHAN Loi-fat (p) alias CHAN Fat, with the

nickname of Fat Chai (or Little Fat).

He is a kung-fu expert and a member of the 14K. His

convictions which covered a period from 1970 to 1975 include

Membership of a Triad Society, Robbery and Demanding Money with Menaces.

He is a close friend of LEUNG Wing-sang and is the godson of LEUNG's

mother.

(ii) LAU Cheong-wah (), with the nickname of

(生雞仔

Sang Kai Chai (1 or Live Chick).

He was a Station Sergeant until his conviction in February, 1975, for an offence under the Prevention of Bribery Ordinance (Chapter 201), i.e., Being in Control of Pecuniary Resources or Property

Disproportionate to His Present or Past Official Emoluments as a Crown

Servant..

(iii) LAW Ming-tak (1) alias LAW Tak.

He was the proprietor of a meat company and also owned an

off-course betting shop. He holds the rank of 426 Red Pole in the 14K

and as such is one of the Society's active leaders. He is also

suspected of being involved in extortion rackets, syndicated corruption

and triad fights. He has previous convictions for Keeping a Common Gaming House.

He is now serving a sentence of 27 months for Conspiracy,

Criminal Intimidation and Blackmail.

(iv) LEE Chi-lung (45).

A kung-fu expert and suspected to be a member of the 14K,he

has one previous conviction for Theft. He is a close friend of LEUNG

(v) LEUNG Wing-sang () alias LEUNG Wang

He is nearly 23 years of age and single. He is a member

of the 14K and has a previous conviction for Membership of a Triad

Society in 1970. He was at all material times an employee of LAW

Ming-tak at his meat company as well as his off-course betting shop.
