(a) Mr. TANG's own current account which, on 2nd May

1973, showed a balance of $1,988.20. was restrained by a court order on 18th August 1977, by which time it held some $35,152.15. The reason for the increase was that it was the account used by Mr. TANG for receipt of his pension.

(b) CHU Sze-fung's saving account which, on 2nd May 1973,

showed a balance of $84,047.81. This account was also restrained by a court order on 18th August 1977, by which time it held some $72,183.86.

Little Stone Manor, Sassoon Road, Hong Kong, was purchased on the 1st May 1973 for $3,000,000 by a person named MAN Cheuk-bun, a former driver employed by TANG Wan, who, over the years of his corrupt connections with Mr. TANG Wan, amassed considerable wealth and became a member of the Far East Stock Exchange. Enquiries have revealed that $1.9 million which originated from fixed deposits under an alias of Mr. TANG Wan's wife was used as part of the purchase price. After purchasing Little Stone Manor, MAN Cheuk-bun then transferred the property to the name of Yee Po Land Development Company Ltd., Room 601, Yue Shing Commercial Building, 15-16 Queen Victoria Street, Hong Kong, a company of which he was a director. Arising from the investigation into Mr. TANG Wan's affairs, MIN Cheuk-bun was charged by ICAC and convicted of Perjury on 7.9.77. He appealed against conviction but the appeal was dismissed on 14.11.77.

Note :

On 25th May 1977, a court order restrained 19/30th parts of Little Stone Manor this figure being representative of the $1.9 million portion of the $3 million purchase price shown to have originated from Mr. TNG's wife.
