Very recently, a liong Kong citizeu has come forward to testify that in 1968 he was present during a conversation in which

discussed with another policeman the bribe of 36,000 fur waren he had been asked. The other policeman (name ) advised him to

would then be in a position to make an easy $60,000. Khan refused and said he would report the matter to the Anti-Corruption Branch. This is where he fell foul of the police and was not recommended for cenfirmation as inspector. This witness did not come forward earlier as he knew the rottenness of the system and his family feared persecution by police. Now he wished to absolve his conscience no matter what the cost.
