I am writing now to let you know that the Ad Hoc Committee, which was set up to promote Mr Khan's cause, petitioned the Governor on his behalf on 22 March. The Governor has asked the signatories of the petition for a copy of the statement by the witness who they say has come forward to testify for Mr Khan.
It would not be appropriate for me to make any further comment until the Governor has considered and replied to the petition. I shall let you know the outcome as soon as I hear anything
more.
