This Ordinance repeals four Ordinances which have become obsolete or spent or have had their effect. Section 3, however, re-enacts (with verbal variations) sections 27 and 28 of the Vagrancy Ordinance (Cap. 229) as provisions of the Summary Offences Ordinance (Cap. 228) as these sections are still considered necessary. It also makes minor amendments to section 144A of the Public Health and Urban Services Ordinance (Cap. 132) to correct an error and to section 9 of the Hong Kong War Memorial Fund Ordinance (Cap. 1026) to extend the time to file reports and accounts.

Before the Acting Governor assented to the Bill in the name and on behalf of Her Majesty, I advised that he could properly do so.
