Honourable Members will be asked to advise whether:
(a)
(b)
subject to approval of funds by the Finance Committee of the Legislative Council, an additional payment of $7.00 per square foot should be offered to those owners of land in urban resumptions in the New Territories gazetted after 1st April 1977 who apply for cash in lieu of exchanges within 3 months of the surrender of their land; and
in general a local exchange scheme should not be implemented.
(The Secretary for the New Territories (Mr D. AKERS-JONES), the Deputy Secretary for the Environment (Mr G. BARNES) and the Principal Government Land Agent (New Territories) (Mr J. D. JOHNSTON) will attend before the Council for the discussion of this item).
