(g) to advise on whether the Working Party on Home Ownership should be authorised to undertake negotiations with The Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation, Hang Seng Bank Limited, other commercial banks and other financial institutions, with a view to arranging adequate mortgage finance on suitable terms, as recommended in paragraph 35(b);

(h) to advise on whether the Working Party on Home Ownership should be directed to proceed with an experimental joint venture scheme as outlined in paragraph 36 to 38; and finally

(i)

to note that the Financial Secretary proposes to make a definitive statement on the Home Ownership Scheme (paragraph 39) and that appropriate steps to publicise the Scheme will be taken should Honourable Members endorse it (paragraph 40).

LIAO), the Commis- sioner of Banking (Mr A.D. OCKENDEN) and the Assistant Financial Secretary (Special Duties) (Mr K. Y. YEUNG) will attend before the Council for the discussion of this item).
