The statistical returns for September 1977 are

The daily average figure for legal immigration from China showed an increase to 77, compared with 62 in August.

274 illegal immigrants from China were arrested during the month, compared with 220 in August. This is the highest arrest figure since repatriation commenced on 30th November 1974.

4.

Only 6 illegal immigrants from Macao were arrested during the month, compared with 31 in August.
