The daily average figure for legal immigration from China,

82, is the highest since April 1975. day every month since November 1976.

It has now exceeded 50 per

221 illegal immigrants from China were arrested ·during the month. This is the second highest arrest figure since repatriation commenced on 30th November 1974. (235 were arrested in December 1974).
