During December 444 persons (372 adults and 72 juveniles) registered with the Registration of Persons Department, claiming to have entered Hong Kong illegally (compared with 611 last month).

8.

As recently informed by the Registration of Persons Department, a total of 313,575 persons who claimed to have entered Hong Kong illegally from various sources, primarily from China, have registered at their offices since 1962. The cumulative total of such registration since January 1968 is 122,412.

Macao

9.

1 illegal immigrant who was referred to this department by the liarine Police was repatriated to Macao on 29th December. In addition, 2 illegal immigrants who were arrested by the Police in September and October were deported to Macao in December.

Release

10.

Of the 85 illegal immigrants from China processed at Ta Ku Ling, 2 were allowed to stay and 83 were repatriated in December. In addition, 8 ilegal immigrants who arrived in November were returned to China in December.
