1. I attach a copy of the letter from the Private Secretary at No 10 to the Home Secretary's Private Secretary dated 31 December, about which I spoke to you. You suggested that it might be useful to have a meeting with representatives of the Home Office to discuss the likely impact on immigration of the publication of the Green Paper. I should be very willing to attend such a meeting.
