The Imprudent Distribution of Government Primary Schools

The distribution of Government Primary Schools is in lack of long term planning and thorough investigation. For example, Sham- shuipo district consists of 14 Government Primary Schools in total, namcly, So Uk north, So Uk South, Li Chang Uk, Cheung Sha Wan, Fuk Wing Street, Fuk Wah Street and Shck Kip Mei Schools with A.M. and P.M. sections, not to mention the other primary schools scattered around. same kind of confusion exists in the Sheung Wan District where 8.Government Primary Schools, say, Sai Ying Pun A.M.-P.M., Holen Liang Memorial A. M.-P.M. Yu To Sang Memorial A.M. - P.M.

A.M. and Sir Ellis Kadooric A.M. - P.M. all packed within sight. The said area has fallen into the new city-plan, and most residents be reset- tled to estates where there are "Built-in" aided primary schools. The 8 Government Primary Schools by then, will not be able to carry out full operation as a result of the aforementioned. The Government and Education Department are liable to the even distribution of schools in the long term sakc. The Primary Ain of Education

The primary aim of education is to furnish free and sound education to every youngster in Hong Kong. The general public ap- prove and welcome the facilities supplied by Government in this con- nection. Despite of the above handicapped conditions, the Government Primary Schools carry out this principle effectively and are doing its job. The present difficulties the Government Prim-ry Schools have cx- pcrienced is a result of the improper policics and systems conducted by the Government, it is therefore the Government itself to be blamed, and not the Government Primary Schools. In fact, the Government Pri- mary Schools solely adopt rules and systems as per Government's in- structions.
