We have investigated the points raised in your letter. contention that your Union has not been recognised by the on Long Government as a consultative body does not a cord with the Secretary of tate's understanding of the position. together with other unions and associations representing staff employed in the duction Department, is a member of the duction Department Consultative Council and has subscribe to its constitution.

The use of the as pri ary schools owing to under-utilization. surplus premises of some of these schools to create new secondary schools to be managed within the aided sector is seen to be in accordance with the policy in the 1965 White Faper that Government should provide schools only where an aided school cannot be provided. This matter has been discussed on several occasions in the Consultative Council since u ust 1976 and it has been also the subject of correspondence on several ocasions between your union and senior officers of the Government Secretarist.
