The Registrar General and the Deputy Crown Solicitor have advised that no immediate action should be taken to interfere with the normal course of winding up proceedings affecting the Hong Kong Resort Company. It is likely that the situation will become clearer during the next few weeks. If the mortgagee (Mr John Lok) wishes to exercise his power of sale and to obtain the benefit of continuing payment of premium by instalments he will inform the Secretary for the New Territories of the prospective purchaser and this proposal will be referred to Council. Honourable Members will continue to be informed of developments.
