West.

A copy of the objection letter is attached at Annex H. The grounds of the objection are that the flyover will adversely affect business in these premises and that this may also affect future rentals for the properties. However, 426A and 426B Des Voeux Road West will not face the flyover and will not therefore be directly affected by it. That part of the flyover in front of 426 Des Voeux Road West will be about 3 metres from the building and about 10 metres above ground level and the existing footpath will be widened from 4 to 10 metres. This could well have a favourable rather than an adverse effect on business in the premises.

Objection Number 3

This objection is from Messrs King and Company, Solicitors, on behalf of Nam Fong China Products Company Limited, owner of the ground floor premises at 14 Hill Road. A copy of the objection letter is attached at Annex I. The grounds of the objection are that the flyover will adversely affect business both during and after construction. The flyover will be about 5 metres from the building and about 16 metres above ground level and the existing footpath will be widened from 4 to 11.5 metres. Business in the premises is therefore unlikely to be significantly affected by the completed structure, although some inconvenience may be caused during its construction.

Objection Number 4

This objection is from Messrs M.K. Lam and Company, Solicitors, on behalf of Cham Tam Fat Limited, owners of the first floor premises in the Cheung Fat Industrial Building at 1 to 9 (odd numbers) Hill Road. A copy of the objection letter is attached at Annex J. The grounds of the objection are that the flyover will disturb their enjoyment of, and individual proprietary interests in, the premises, obstruct light and air to the building and lower the land value, and cause difficulties for the loading and unloading of goods. As the premises will be situated below the level of the flyover and about 8. 4 metres away from it, the undertaking is unlikely to cause markedly adverse environmental effects. Upon completion of the flyover,
