(a) To keep a constant watch on

water and land pollution;

(b) To advise the S. for E. on

measures to combat water and land pollution.

Members also discussed the replacement of 2-stroke Police Yamaha Motorcycles which emit excessive smoke. The Sub-Committee recommended that these should be replaced at once by non-polluting vehicles.

At the 18th meeting held on 4.10.76, Members discussed progress of the revised 10-year solid waste disposal programme plan and the problem of pollution caused by livestock manure and the means of disposal of pig and poultry manure.

The next meeting will be held on 9.12.76 to discuss :-

To implement recommendations for Road Traffic Legislation made by a Working Party set up to review such legislation.

A complete review of this Chapter is in hand, coordinated by a Steering Group. First drafts of the Bill and part of the subsidiary regulations have been prepared by the A.G. This Branch is obtaining comments from Departments.

Obtain comments and dr ExCo paper.
