Extension to the Modified Initial System of the Mass Transit Railway

To decide whether to have a cable car link between Central and Aberdeen.

To study the practical implications of constructing possible extensions to the Modified Initial System and to facilitate these in anticipation of policy decisions on such extensions.

(a) T.A.C. has been consulted and, on its

advice, an ExCo paper drafted, recommending the issue of invitations to interested companies to submit feasibility proposals.

(b) The Public Works Department has

submitted to Legal Department drafting instructions to the Operation and Maintenance Regulations.

A Study Group has been formed under the Chairmanship of D.S.(E)1 to implement this.
