Country Parks (ENV 30/15/01)

Purpose

(a) To define the location

and boundaries of country parks and special areas.

Progress Made & Present Position

(a) The first three country parks

at Shing Mun, Lion Rock and Kan Shan together with the first Special Area at Tai Po Kau were designated in June. Further two country parks at Aberdeen and Tai Tan on Hong Kong Island were designated at the end of October. Addition-- al country parks at Sai Kung East and Sai Kung West in the New Territories are being processed for designation. Preliminary work on the

boundaries of country parks at Plover Cove and on Lantau

Island are also in hand.
