Purpose

To provide up-to-date information on the present and future availability of land for all purposes in a programme to be established and in operation by the end of 1973.

Progress Made & Present Position

The Special Committee on Land Production reported to HE in July 1977 and recommended inter alia that the Committee should continue in existence with revised terms of reference en ling it to assess demand for land in the different usc categories and to make recommendations as to how a continuing land production programme could be made. Executive Council has also approved a consultants' study of Lantau to determine the development potential of the island.
