The constitutional position which is and always has been fully accepted by the Brunei Government is that the judiciary enjoys the same independent status as that of HM judges in the UK.

They

There are no restrictions on the registration of trade unions. Five unions have been so registered. are ineffective, but at present because of the traditional attitudes of a non- industrial society rather than through repression.

There are no restrictions and no exit permits are required. (Absence from the State for a continuous period of 5 years without maintaining substantial connections with the State leads to loss of the status of Subject of the Sultan).
