There is also the point that, although the Prime Minister can appoint judges, he cannot dismiss them. This means that in the event

of a change of government, the incoming administration is left with the judges appointed by their predecessors. Therefore. for all practical purposes, the Judiciary is independent.

The trade union organisation is completely free.

(vii) Barbadians are free to leave the country at any time; there is no brake on emigration. On the contrary, the Government of Barbados is anxious to do everything it can to ensure the greatest possible freedom of entry to other countries in order to provide an outlet for surplus population.
