(v) The actions of the judiciary are
not directed by the executive. Judges are, however, appointed for limited terms and are unlikely to act in a way contrary to Government policy.
(vi)
There is no official restriction on trade union organisations, nor any evidence of official interference in the affairs of individual trade unions or of the Federation of Korean Trade Unions.
(vii) There are no restrictions on freedom
of travel within Korea except to strategic areas. Emigration is actively encouraged as a means of controlling the growth of population. But restrictions may be placed on those who it is suspected might defame the regime.
