I enclose copies (rather faint I am afraid) of documents which I have received from ODM. They refer to Mr L J Handy who was due to go to Hong Kong last year to assist Professor Turner.

2. ODM wish to take legal action to compel Mr Handy to return the £720 paid to him to cover his travel costs and the £800 paid as an advance of honoraria.

3. I also enclose copies of the documents from HKGD files which deal with the case. The circumstances surrounding the termination of Mr Handy's contract seem somewhat unusual.

4. I would be grateful to know the precise legal position and what formal steps to obtain a refund would be appropriate.
