With reference to our telephone conversation this morning, I should be grateful if you would authorise the provision of finance (1,100) to cover the return fare for Professor Turner from Australia to London and also to cover three nights subsistence in London.
2. Professor Turner is currently engaged in the study of labour relations in Hong Kong at the request of HG. The Frime Minister, when he was Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs, intended that the TUC should be closely associated with Professor Turner's study and the CLCC, on which the TUC is represented, has already considered an interim report submitted by Professor Turner. It has been agreed that, in order that the Professor can finalise his report, he should return to the United Kingdom to discuss further developments with the CICC.
