While environment of Macau is primarily a domestic matter for Macau, The operation of any such new international airport could pose problems for Hong Kong in, for example, the co-ordination of air
traffic control services; the scale of those problems could well be increased if the studies mentioned by the Hong Kong authoribjeg were to result in a decision to build a new airport there to assist or replace Kai Tak. However, until/the attitude of the Government of the People's Republic of China towards this propo: is clear, it would be premature to hold any technical discussion:
involving the Hong Kong authorities.
