the Corporation as works sites and works areas for the construction of stations, station entrances and ventilation shafts and running lines, etc, and are temporarily granted by means of Short Term Tenancies. Application for such sites from the Mass Transit Railway Corporation are considered by the second inter-departmental committee (see paragraph 5 of Annex B), processed through the Public Works Department in the same way as other applications for Short Term Tenancies and submitted to the Secretary for the Environment for final approval of terms. Those areas of the tenancies on which permanent works are carried out (e.g. station boxes, entrances and ventilation shafts) are replaced in due course with a more permanent form of tenure whereas those areas occupied only for a temporary use, revert to Government in due course.
