1. HIG are delighted that on his first visit to Western
Europe, the Minister has come first to the UK. They take this as a political. sign of China's desire to expand co-operation with the UK, as well as having commercial significance. Certainly they attachoimportance to having good relations with China at all levels. They look forward to receiving the Chinese Foreign Minister, Mr Huang Hua, in the UK next year.
