let Sir Lawrence know this and that once he and his wife are in London we will collect their passports from them and take them to Clive House (Room 201) for the necessary treatment. We can leave the precise way of doing this until the Kadoories are in London. It may be, for example, that the best thing will be for Sir Lawrence to take the passports with him when he calls at the DOI and for us to collect them from Mr Mac Donald.

I think the way is clear for you to send the BTC the preliminary reply to their telegram for which they ask by the ~early hours of tomorrow, 1 July. I attach a draft.
