HONG KONG: LETTER FROM LORD RHODES
Lord Rhodes has written to Lord Goronwy-Roberts about
the importance of British exports to Hong Kong.
Lord Rhodes
was formerly the Labour Member of Parliament for Ashton-under-Lyme, and in 1950-51 was Parliamentary Secretary at the Board of Trade. He is a woollen manufacturer, having started his own business
He is a friend of the shortly after the First World War, present Governor of Hong Kong, who, I understand, holds his opinions in high esteem,

Lord Rhodes wrote to Lord Goronwy-Roberts after a visit he had made to Hong Kong in late 1975. I attach a copy of Lord Goronwy-Roberts' letter of 2 December 1975 in reply.
I submit a draft reply to Lord Rhodes' letter which describes the steps now being taken to increase British sales in Hong Kong The DOT concur.
