maintaining the arrangements for the authorization of imports into the United Kingdom of certain articles
of clothing, originating in Macao
THE COUNCIL OF THE EUROPEAN COMMUNITIES,
Having regard to the Treaty establishing the European Economic Community,
Having regard to Council Regulation (EEC) No 1439/74 of 4 June 1974
on
common rules for imports"), and in particular Article 12 thereof,
Consultations having taken place within the Advisory Committee set up
under Article 5 of the abovementioned Regulation,
Having regard to the proposal from the Commission,
Whereas the Commission has introduced by Regulation (EEC) No 1176/772),
arrangements for the authorization of imports into the United Kingdom of
men's and boys' jackets, blazers and like articles and women's, girls'
and infants' blouses and shirts, originating in Macao;
Whereas the factors which justified the introduction of these arrangements
still persist; whereas the arrangements should therefore remain in force
until 31 March 1978;
Whereas the arrangements in question concern imports of goods exported from Macao up to 31 December 1977; whereas certain of these goods are likely to be imported during the first quarter of 1978; whereas the arrange- ments should therefore remain in force until 31 March 1978;
