1. I have been checking to find out whether a reply has been sent by Sir Peter Carey to David Jordan's letter of 7 April. I am told this has not yet gone out.

As presumably you will be dealing with it, you may be interested to see the attached telegrams from David Jordan concerning the speech to the Legislative Couaail on Wednesday 20 April.

3. I also enclose a copy of our telegram no. 287 of 19 April replying to David Jordan and his rejoinder datedc11 May. You will see from this last that he is still very much concerned to get a reply from Sir Peter Carey.
