A textiles agreement with the EEC was ratified covering Hong Kong's cotton, man-made fibre and wool textiles exports to the EEC until 31 December 1977.

The International Monetary Fund sold 780,000 troy ounces of gold at a common price of US 126,00 per ounce at its first auction.

An ad referendum Hong Kong/Sweden agreement was concluded restraining Hong Kong's exports of certain cotton and man- made fibre textile products to Sweden for 18 months from 1 July 1976.

The MTRC announced that it's first issue of HK$400 million bonds have been fully subscribed.

A Hong Kong/Finland agreement was signed restraining Hong Kong's exports of certain cotton, man-made fibre and wool garments to Finland for one year from 1 June 1976.

Australia announced the continuation of global tariff quotas already in force in respect of imports of certain textile products, and the introduction of new global tariff quotas from 1 July 1976 on certain other textile products including all items covered by a Hong Kong/Australia export restraint agreement which expired on 30 June 1976.

A Hong Kong/Canada agreement was signed covering an export authorisation system on Hong Kong's exports of certain textile products to Canada for one year from 1 October 1975.

A Hong Kong/Switzerland agreement was signed covering an export authorisation system on Hong Kong's exports of certain garments to Switzerland for 1 year from 7 July 1976.

Interest rates were lowered by in Hong Kong.

An ad referendum Hong Kong/Canada agreement was concluded restraining Hong Kong's exports of certain sweaters, cardigans and pullovers for one year from 1 August 1976.
