CAPITAL PUNISHMENT: LETTER FROM MISS JOAN LESTOR MP
349) 1.
$21/12
Miss Lestor has asked the Secretary of State for comments on a letter from one of her constituents. The constituent has questioned the legal basis for the British Government's refusal to intervene to stop the executions in Bermuda and has asked a number of other related questions. Miss Lestor also asked for comments on the apparent contradiction between the present case and what she was told when Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State about the case of Mr Desmond Trotter who was sentenced to death in Dominica in November 1974.
2. WIAD and the departmental legal adviser concur.
