BERMUDA: DEATH PENALTY

1.

Baroness Sharpes rang to say that it was quite deplorable that she had not been given any advance notice by the FCO of the confirmation of sentence on Messrs Tacklyn and Burroughs in Bermuda. Baroness Sharples said that she had received a letter this afternoon from an official in the FCO but that this had come to her after she had been beseiged by the press and the BBC and that she felt that given the contact she has had with the FCO over the months this was not good enough. She now proposes to write a letter of complaint to the Secretary of State.
