CAPITAL PUNISHMENT: BERMUDA
LETTER FROM AMNESTY INTERNATIONAL
1. The attached letter from the Director of Amnesty International
asks the Secretary of State to exert whatever influence he can
to bring about the commutation of the Bermuda death sentences.
2. This is very similar to the petition from Mr Stanley Newens MP and others on which we submitted today.
3.
I recommend that the Secretary of State should reply on
similar lines to his reply to Mr Newens and I submit a draft
letter.
