has been far too indecisive a Judge to make a satisfactory Chief Justice. Indeed, they believe that it is this very weakness which commends him to the PLP, some of whose leaders would like a Chief Justice whom they could bully or manipulate. I still expect to confirm my earlier recommendation that James Astwood be appointed, though, in the circumstances, I am now consulting more widely before I do so.
I shall be most interested to learn from you how your meeting with David. Gibbons goes.
