PQ: THE COST OF ADMINISTERING THE DEPENDENCIES

I attach a draft submission and Answer to Mr Grocott's question, and by way of further explanation I would add that the figure was taken from a paper prepared for the CPRS last year (HX 400/548/1 Flag A).

Although the table excludes Hong Kong, this in fact only refers to the Defence and Aid figures (over 90% of the total). The figures in PAR from which the Administration figure was culled make no mention of excluding Hong Kong (flags B and C) and I therefore think the make a suitable basis for a reply to this P
