posible, but one or two expatriates may be needed during next decade. Several Justices of Appeal will need to be found. (Assuming independence later rather than sooner)
Letter from Mr Davis, Gibraltar
Assumption and conclusions correct for Gibraltar. Intention to extend CJ Spry, with review at the end of that period, but almost certain need for further expatriate. Also continuing requirement for expatriate Attorney General.
Letter from Er Le Breton, Anguilla
Hope to return to WIAS Supreme Court, when need for Anguilla Apreal Jourt and Judiciary would fall away. If this is impossible, non-resident Judges of Appeal will continue to be required, plus a part-time High Court Judge. Not easy to find the latter possibly share with Caymans or Belize? There will remain a need for a resident expatriate AG.
Letter from Mr Jones, Montserrat
Dependence on WIA3 Supreme Court should continue. AG and Magistrate/Registrar should continue to be expatriate (West Indians).
Letter from Mr Wallace, BVI
Agrees with assumptions. At least 1982 before local AG, prior to that there should be no difficulty in finding a Caribbean to fill the post. AG, Legal Assistant, Registrar and Magistrate posts filled by
West Indians.
