The contract of the Adviser on Audit should be renewed for a further four months to allow him to complete arrange- ments for and report on the Conference of Dependent Territories' Inspectors of Audit. Meanwhile PPD should consult the ODM with a view to transferring Mr Carter to their establishment

"Dependent Territories Departmental Practice" should be regarded as the basic handbook on Dependent Territories administration, and should become a numbered volume of DSP to be held by all interested parties, to be revised chapter by chapter in conjunction with the DSP Editorial Unit of the Inspectorate

The General section's proposed

Colonial Precedents Index should be no more than a limited expansion of the rough index which the section have already. After weeding by the section, the advice of Mr Bennett and the Librarian of the DSE Library service point should be sought to determine the most useful form the Index might take
