Mr Larmour
CONFIDENTIAL
1. Sir Peter Thornton has mentioned to the PUS that Mr Y K Pao is in London and he has some views about the succession to Sir M MacLehose which might be of interest.
2. The PUS is quite happy to offer Mr Pao a drink, as the latter entertained him when he was in Hong Kong, if you and the Chief Clerk thought this desirable. I understand Mr Pao may be leaving shortly so the PUS would be grateful for your urgent advice.
