contrary to section 4(18) of the Summary Offences Ordinance, Cap. 228). In addition, YEUNG was charged with resisting a Police officer in the execution of his duties, contrary to section 36(b) of the Offences Against the Person Ordinance. Both WONG and YEUNG pleaded not guilty to these charges but were convicted on 7th January 1976 and fined $50 on each charge.

Incident B. At approximately the same time members of the League awaited Mr. Rodger's arrival at the Airport where they engaged in distributing hand bills to members of the public. An argument occurred between the League's photographer and a newspaper photographer as a result of which the Police intervened and took both photo- graphers into custody. The photographers were subsequently released without being charged but in the course of enquiries various members of the League came to the Police Station to enquire after their colleague and witnesses identified 3 of the callers as persons who had been earlier engaged in dis- tributing hand bills. One, a girl aged 17 years named CHEUNG Chor-ying, had apparently been involved in the San Po Kong incident. No charge was brought against her. Charges of distributing hand bills at the Airport contrary to section 4(18) of the Summary Offences Ordinance were brought against 2 young men, CHAN Chung-wa and KWONG Yiu-chung. These charges were heard on 8th March 1976 when they were both convicted and discharged with convictions being recorded.

Mours sincerely,

Garth Xiantor

(G. C. Thornton) Acting Attorney General.
