The general concensus of a small advisory group of the leading Hongs and banks established by the Trade Commission, is that sending groups of Hong Kong industrialists to Britain to visit factories or exhibitions there, is likely to be the most effective way of establishing greater interest in British products. Under the existing inward mission scheme, the BOTB meets about 50% of the cost of an inward mission, the remainder being put up by the companies visited. The problem is not so much support from the BOTB, as convincing trade associations, through whom the initial approach is made, that their member firms' money will be well spent. There is also the question of fitting a mission into the priority the association accords to other, larger markets.
