given to achieve this are set out below.

One of the main functions of the British Trade Commission is

to act as a source of information for British companies. Information

about tenders and other specific export opportunities which come to the Commission's attention are disseminated through what is known as the Export Intelligence Service, operated by the British Overseas Trade Board. This functions through a computer which selects and

passes on information relevant to each of the 6,000 subscribers. information is vital to the Commission's work, it would be particularly

helpful if it could be given:

as much information as possible about major

Government projects likely to go out to tender,

(ii)

Given

any information available about developments in the

private sector, either general or specific. the very large number of small industrial units in Hong Kong, the Commission finds it. difficult to keep tabs on new factories or the re-tooling or expansion

of existing ones. Any information that comes the way

of the Department of Commerce and Industry, the Chamber of Commerce or the Trade Development Council about such developments would be most valuable; this would apply also to information about companies wishing to establish
